REDEFINING WELLNESS.
The term “wellness” is often associated with putting in time on a treadmill while avoiding sugary or greasy foods. While this is certainly a worthy part of a wellness plan, it’s also missing other critical components. When we use the word “wellness” at Mirador, we are referring to whole-person wellness that considers the body, mind, and spirit. It’s wellness from the inside out.
One of the first steps towards wellness is identifying what may be holding you back. As an Eden Alternative community, we believe that perpetual boredom, unsatisfied loneliness, and a general lack of purpose are the most detrimental experiences an elder can have. That’s why our dedicated lifestyle team is looking for ways to involve residents in the many ways they can remain engaged in opportunities that will promote connection, meaning, and joy.
If it benefits the body, stimulates the mind, or encourages the spirit, you’re sure to find it in our wellness programming. Oh, and we have a great fitness center too!
