Purposeful Living- 40 ways seniors can give back

Purposeful Living- 40 ways seniors can give back

Winston Churchill once said, "It's not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something." The human spirit longs for meaning, for purpose, regardless of age or ability. Purpose is a core need, and a determining factor in one's ability to maintain joy and a sense of overall fulfillment in life. Some may have bought into the misconception that older adults are not as able to contribute, compared to younger people. This narrative couldn't be further from the truth. In many cases, the older adult is more equipped than the average person. With a more robust collection of experiences, wisdom, and expertise, one could argue that this generation brings more to the table than any other group. Additionally, older adults may have more time to contribute to a good cause than those that are still in the middle of raising kids or building a career. If you or an older adult in your life is on the hunt for meaningful activities to get involved in, check out our list of 40 ways older adults can give back.
