Hard times are useful for a handful of things. From a Biblical perspective, our weaknesses and struggles are an opportunity for God to be glorified.
2 Corinthians 12:10 says “That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
On a smaller and more personal scale, a difficult season of life is an opportunity for those in the community to step up and serve.
Earlier this year, María Ximena Borda stepped into a new position at Mirador: Life Enrichment Coordinator. María had previously worked with Mirador as a contracted fitness instructor. Chair Zumba is always a fun class that María continues to teach in The Plaza!
Below is a short note from María, one of the many heroes at Mirador.

A Personal Note from María
In the midst of all that is happening, we are taking measures to ensure our residents can adapt in the best way possible to the changes we’ve had to make. We are visiting each resident one by one and developing activities tailored to their individual needs. We are strengthening their cognition, memory, concentration, personal care, and physical and emotional health through our many activities here at Mirador. These include rhythmic exercises, Pilates, going on walks, building puzzles, painting, playing music, bingo and much more.
We are dedicating as much time as possible to fellowship with each resident during this time of social distancing and ensuring that all of their needs are met. We are committed to helping our residents have a sense of normalcy during such uncertain times.
Sincerely,
María Ximena Borda
Life Enrichment Coordinator
